Oven-Dried Tomatoes

Roma Tomatoes in Oven

Few roma tomatoes, each cut into five round slices, tossed in salt and pepper, then baked on a foil covered tray in the oven at 350°F for about 45 minutes.

Oven Dried Tomatoes in Olive Oil

My first time making these and I am surprised at how easy it was to prepare them, and how good they tasted. Because I chopped them thin, I didn’t had to cook them for 3 to 4 hours in the oven.

  1. They look delicious, Indira. Hmm…They can be made without 12 to 16 hour baking in the oven, that’s news to me.

  3. Your website is cool and you are revealing some of the secrets of gourmet food stores. I didn’t know that making of this kind of tomatoes is this simple. Recently, we bought some like these from a local grocery store paying very high price. Next time, we’ll try making these for ourselves. Thank you!

  4. Sunny, I was surprised too by how quickly they dried out. Istead of halving the tomato into two, I cut them into 4 or 5 slices. I think that cut the baking time short.
A.Annapoorna – I do that too, popping to look at your page often.:)
    VJ – Thank You!
