You web site is the best visual of foods I've ever seen! I also enjoyed your cat photos. I try Indian vegetarian cooking on a daily basis. I also take photos of the dishes and the garden veggies we grow. Also the pickles I can and pies and breads I bake. And we have cats, too and lots of photos of them. Right now we have four kittens that are 5 weeks old today. I am so happy to see your photos being shared. They are very beautiful and exciting. Thankyou so much. I will continue using your web site and getting recipes ideas. Thankyou again.

Indira replies:
We seem to have many common interests and hobbies it seems. Thanks Xavier for sharing this info. with me and also for your nice words about my blog.
Looking forward to your comments and feedback on my recipes. Thanks!

Mathy and Mika.. thanks and Happy Dasara.

Mika.. I bought the long, slightly plump variety (bajji milagai) here at a local grocery shops called Mark's. Made just plain milagai bajji, didn't do stuffing etc.,
I am going to post the pictures of bajji tomorrow.

Hi Indira- what a great feast! Happy Vijayadasami. The milagai bajji sounds great and the poli too. I am waiting for your recipes of them. BTW, did you use banana peppers for the bajji?

I would have enjoyed your company if you had come over for the festival feast, Shammi.:)
You know, we two are the only Indians living in this small town that I know of. Not possible to invite anyone here for the festival. and I didnot want to harass:) my kind neighbour with our food. Lot of food for two people, perfect to gain weight.

Stephanie...Our Gods and Goddesses are very pretty to look at. Beautiful art- richly decorated, colorful, vibrant and mystical is what they are.And appreciation of art is always a great thing, I think.

Indira...it's all so beautiful! I hope I don't sound sacriligious, but I actually have a few things like that; mostly statues, but a couple prints, as well. I got them for their beauty and meaning.

And the food? Yummmmmm...

Dasara shubhakankshalu!

These festivals always remind us of the good things we need to do and festivals also prepare us to face the world with renewed energy. May God give you all the strength needed to do the good things!

Happy Dasara!
