I have just made the spinach curry and it tastes great! - no coconut powder here in Brunei but used freshly squeezed coconut cream instead and it tastes just fine. I also didn't put in kala Chana as I had already made my dhal. Must put the recipe on the web one day, but as I have never done that yet, perhaps not today, though my dhal is a really lovely recipe.

Hi Indira, You have a great blog here! Keep up the good work. Was looking for some spinach recipes and liked your simple yet appealing spinach curry. But, I'm afriad, it didn't turn out as tasty as I thought it would. I didn't put in the coconut powder and used sunflower oil instead of peanut oil.Do you think that might have been responsible for the curry not turning out the way I had thought it would? Had started with great enthussiasm but was disappointed at the outcome of my culinary adventure :(

Indira replies...
Thanks Shilpi.
I don't think they were the reason for bad spinach curry. It's all on the quality of spinach. Did you use a fresh bunch? The frozen baby spinach oozes lot of water when stir fried and won't taste that good. If you ask me, taste of spinach curry is all depends on how fresh the spinach is.
Please don't be disappointed. Give it a try atleast one more time, see how it turns out.
I hope this helps!
