I found out today the main building of Flea Market burned a few days ago(not sure when) but they plan to open the outdoor area this Sunday to vendors though.

Hello Allecia, I am sorry to read about this. I hope they build a new, improved facility to serve the flea market fans.

Hi Indira...I'm happy that you got to shop this week-end. I would just like to comment on one thing...the produce at your market is in boxes does not necessarily mean its not local...I was in salinas yesterday(called the salad bowl of america)..and while driving by a farm I saw people picking/harvesting strawberries and packing it in boxes right there in the fields and then selling it at their market(which was also in their field).....these people probably need boxes to make sure their produce does not get bruised while taking it from their fields to the market place...so let's give them the benefit of doubt, shall we? :)

Indira replies:
I am very careful with these things, Nabeela. I don't write about stuff like these unless it's a fact. We did ask them about the source, the stall owners did told us that they ship produce from other states like California and Florida etc. They even sell produce advertising like farm fresh Florida oranges or California strawberries etc.

I love Farmer's Markets!! Strawberries are so in season right now! I can't wait for mine to turn red! One of these days my husband and I are going to head off to a U-Pick farm and get some berries. I see more radishes! ;)

Indira replies:
Strawberries freshly picked from the farm have the best taste.
Join in the fun on June 1st with strawberries for Jihva, Amy?
