hi.lovely kitty. i have 6 of an exotic african species--not very well known but exotic all the same.how do you manage when you travel out of town? i have'nt had a holiday with my family since last year as my house- help left and i dare'nt leave my cats with the guard ( they will probably be eaten by the time i get back--yes --they eat all kinds of living things in africa---so no stray animals/pets seen anywhere so--- our pets are guarded zealously). we have a clinic to board pets but they are very very expensive.

Hi Indira,
Your Kittaya looks royal indeed.but while I was looking at some of his photos from the past,I noticed he had short hair in a few pictures but long in most of them.
I am curious to know is it because of his shedding?
Your blog is great.I tried making tomato pachadi and it turned out better than the one from the store.

What a handsome Kitty. May I know what breed your kitty is? I was thinking of adopting a kitty myself but am a bit nervous especially about where I am going to leave the kitty if I plan to go on vacation to India for a couple of weeks. My friends are not an option since all of them have a weird fear of cats. How do you manage when you go to India?

Indira,

Kittappa looks grand! I swear I see a smile on his face- unless it is the result of some handy Photoshop manipulation you employed to get the effect- but I think he is smiling benignly at all of us -his faithful subjects!

BTW I was wondering if you've heard the name "CHEELA" for cats having grown up in Rayalaseema - while growing up that was the name my mom (who grew up in Dharmavaram/Anantapuram) christened EVERY cat we owned. Thanks for these!

Sincerely
Usha

<i>Hello Usha,
I know a Cheela :) I think it's a common name/callname for kittens in our area.
