Hi Indira. I have a question, and I was wondering if you could help me. I was shopping for mung beans, and when I got home, I saw I bought 'moth' beans. Do you know what they are? They are brown, small, and oval, a little like mung beans, but brown. Many thanks, Maninas.

Hi Maninas, Moth beans, also known as matki beans are like cousins to mung beans. They have that same wonderful taste. Can be used in place of mung beans. Cook them like you do the mung beans. They are also reliable sprouters, and produce delightful looking sprouts that taste mellow and crisply sweet.
I've written few recipes with moth (Matki) beans, here is the link.
Hope this helps.
- Indira
