I have also experimented with adding chopped roasted chestnuts to chocolate cookies, and everyone loved the results. Amazing how familiar some things can taste, even though growing up I never ate chestnuts--the famous chestnuts of Kiev are not edible. Could you please suggest me to pick the right chestnuts? Lasttime when I bought them in ShopRite, they were not very dry. Should I look for the dry ones or the moist ones? I go with not too dry and not too moist ones. Also roast them within a day or two after buying. You can also find more info about chestnuts - here. Hope this helps.
