Congratulations, America! This outcome means so much to people around the world! A newspaper in Mumbai featured an interview with a self-made Dalit (untouchable caste) doctor, with the headline, “We too can have a Dalit prime minister”.
Yes, absolutely. We can have Dalit PMs, Presidents or even Dalit Secretary Generals of UN.. Nobody is stopping them from being one. Its they who r their own challenge, and their wrong idea that Reservation can help them reach the top positions. This is making them less competitve and putting in their full efforts for aiming for these top positions.
While reservations give only the initial push/platform for them, for top positions like PMs Presidents etc, pure potential and intellect are needed. Let them display that and it is all theirs. Moreover I think KR Narayanan who was former president was a dalit too, who successfully completed his term… and no one stopped him from being that!
Coming to Obama he became the President by the virtue of his learning, ability to lead a big country like USA. Not just be pity that he is a black. I think this sympathy etc work only in India, even to this day!
More than America, I would say readers of your blog can say Yipee finally too! I was not able to open your page for past few days and today I finally can your blog Indira Also v happy to see a post from your end..Hope u r doing great
I second Trupti. I also love his voice too
Hubby said that this is the event which will change the history.
Glad to see ur blog up and running. Tried many times in last month , couldn’t get here that time. Thought to make something for T&T event of Zlamushka.
Hope you are doing well .
As we here in India rejoice in his victory.Simultaneously we accomplished a great task of defeating the face of terror in Mumbai.
Hope to see both the nation grow and move ahead in positive direction irrespective of the division of caste, creed and race created by few morons.
You encouraged me to cook during those lonely hours in the US (Happy back in India now:)) I have been following your recipes for almost three four years now! I eagerly come here but disappointingly find no new posts! Hope things are going fine at your end!
Frankly, once again, i need some support to cook and enjoy the art… wish to see you soon…

Hi Indira, hope things are okay with you. I’ve been eagerly awaiting some new recipes from you. Where did you go? Best wishes.
Dear Indira, I hope all is well with you. It’s been very quiet here for quite a while. I wish you a happy holiday season, and all good things for 2009! Hope to hear from you soon.
Yes we need new and young leaders, but to the pity we have the family league going on in indian democracy called demorchy, only the son/ daughter of a leader can become a leader, that is the reason US is land of opportunities and India the land of tangled relation’s.
Hi Indira,
saw your site and am impressed. I would like to share some recipes too. I am from Trivandrum, kerala and am visiting my daughter in Ca.
