Hello Indira,
I’d just like to say that you have one amazing food blog here, complete with recipes and gorgeous pictures. Thank you so much for sharing about Indian food . It’s easily available in Singapore but it’s tough to find someone to talk about the preperation in such detail!
Comment by Glenda — September 26, 2006 @ 11:52 pm
Hi Indira,
I’m working woman in India. I have a cook at home, so I don’t really do much routine cooking. But when my five year old son asks me to make sweets at home, I always turn to your blog!
If I ask my grandmom or mother-in-law how to make these dishes they just don’t tell me the basis stuff and they’re realy not clear about the quantities ( ‘a pinch of this’ and ‘a little of that’).
I love this blog because you make cooking complicated things sound so simple, logical and ‘idiot proof’. That’s exactly what I need.
Keep up the good work : )

Just tried the sunnundalu yesterday and I couldn’t stop crying when i tasted it. It reminded me of my childhood so much.

Awesome Site! Manchiga telugu lo kudha mention chesaru about the ingredients since it’s hard for some of them (including me) to get to know the english names for the ingredients. And about the pictures, I was just trying to control my mouth from watering
Keep it up. And I am sharing this website with many of my friends too, everyone are surprised to see your hard work. I got to know about this site from one of my friend.

Hi:
I tried making mysore pak exactly the way it was told here. First time I didnt dry roast the besan so the mysore pak turned out fine but with the raw besan smell. I went over the reviews here and found out that dry roasting works for that problem. I tried it out and Voila!!! my family wants me to make it again and this time I added to my list of Diwali sweets. Never felt so confident making mysore pak!!
Thanks

Dear Indira,
I am also wondering if being a doctor you could include modified Indian recipes for diabetes and by this I mean not only experimenting with ingredients but also indicating what portion constitutes typical servings. a photograph using katoris for example, would be great. your thoughts on the same in a blog would be brilliant. many thanks. I love your website and all the recipes. I am looking for a sweet rice dessert that a friend used to make for me, they are no longer here or I would ask them for the recipe
I watched them make it several times but didn’t get the actual recipe. They called it candy rice but I don’t think that is the actual name. I have searched the net for so long and found several things near but not the correct recipe. It doesn’t have any milk or milk products in it. I do know it was made with sugar syrup and the syrup was made (cooked) till it was almost the crack stage and then tossed in the rice. They added color (several colors) so it was pretty mixed. I think they also added some cardamon seed pods in the syrup maybe and took them out before it got to the crack stage. I am so sorry that I am not much help, I am going by memory. If you could help it would be so awesome.
Thanks so much,
Pamela
